Gelateria Vaniglia, a semi-circular counter with an open laboratory

The ice cream parlour Vaniglia makes a fine show with its island clearly visible in the Marcon shopping centre in Venice.
The large semi-circular horseshoe-shaped counter houses 36 flavours of ice cream and slushies and a showcase dedicated to yoghurt and fresh fruit.
The counter is clad in oak with bleached strips and corten skirting that contrast with the dark finish of the visible laboratory structure.
At the back of the counter is the artisan production laboratory, characterised by large glass walls on all sides finished with an iron grid structure.
The rounded shape of the large counter allows an all-round view into the shopping centre exhibition area.
The visible laboratory is also designed to attract the curiosity of passers-by.
