La Loggetta, the historic ice cream parlour in the centre of Mantua
Mantua, Italy
La Loggetta is a historic ice cream parlour in Mantua that has been operating since 1939, which combines traditional artisan production with proposals for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs and the typical Veronese "brick" ice cream.
The venue is located in a small but characteristic historical building in the centre of the Lombard City.
In 2013, we followed the restyling project from conception to installation.
We proposed an important counter that follows the entire length of the premises, fitted with covered ice cream tubs and carapines with a slightly retro style.
The counter is covered with cream-coloured ashlar panelling, a burnished brass plinth and a dark marble top. On one side is a display case for parfaits and desserts lined with the same finish.
The back is fitted with well-equipped service counters and vintage-style mirrored risers punctuated by crystal shelves.
The light colour of the furnishings lends brightness to the entire room and amplifies the perception of space.
An important Murano glass chandelier adorns the ceiling.
